Transport of water
Water flow through plants
With the instructor pupils discuss the importance of plants for people and the overall dependence of our civilization on plants and water resources. Together, they revise ideas on the structure of plants, how to care for the plants, and what plants need to live. They find out how fast water flows through plants by undertaking an experiment. The practical part of the workshop consists of an aquaeduct construction so as to supply water to the pupils’ paper flowers from a reservoir. Pupils in groups discuss, plan and develop their own solutions for the water-transport facility. At the end he instructor tests the suitability of the construction by appllying a flow of water.
