MMU – Manchester Metropolitan University
Manchester Metropolitan University
Manchester Metropolitan University is located in North-West England, in “the world’s first industrialised city”, where many engineers worked to design and build the machine parts for the cotton industry in the nineteenth century. The University itself began as a centre of Technology, Art and Design, combining Manchester Mechanics’ Institution in 1824 and Manchester School of Design in 1838. Today, the Institute of Education is one of the largest teacher education centres in the UK, and includes the Education and Social Research Institute and its Centre for Research in Mathematics and Science Education.
