The Deutsches Museum Bonn

The Deutsches Museum Bonn is an offshoot of the world-famous Deutsches Museum in Munich (its only branch outside the Munich area), and shows some 100 contemporary masterpieces of science and technology. They represent significant scientific and technical developments of the past six decades. The exhibits also feature the results of several lines of research that were rewarded with Nobel prizes. The stories they tell include for example the difficult road to the first MP3 player and the uncertain fate of the Transrapid magnetic levitation train. Brilliantly simple inventions such as the Fischer wall plug are contrasted with the scanning tunnelling microscope and other complex instruments of pure research.
